HIMALAYAN POLICY & RESEARCH FOUNDATION

Wisdom is The Silence of Peaks

About Us

Himalayan Policy & Research Foundation is a vibrant initiative aimed at reconstructing a fresh intellectual and cultural edifice rooted in the metaphysical essence of Himalayan civilization, viewed through the prism of its profound civilizational connection with the Bharat Upmahadeep (Indian Subcontinent).
Jammu and Kashmir remains critically important today because of its strategic location, rich tradition as a center of learning, and its place as the Crown of Bharata.

In this setting, Jammu and Kashmir holds special significance. It is not just a strategic location on the map; it is a region shaped by centuries of scholarship, spiritual life, and cultural exchange. Today, it stands at a crossroads, demanding careful reflection and honest engagement—not slogans, but substance.
There is a strong need to look again at its history, geography, social life, politics, and economy—both past and present—to build a full understanding that fits the challenges of today.
This effort calls for a balanced view that brings together wisdom and practical thinking. The aim is to help the region grow into a strong and living centre of knowledge, culture, and strategy.
It also tries to hear different voices, identify what is missing, and understand competing ideas, while offering a space for honest conversation about the region’s many layers.
It is important to look closely at the tensions in the region and how traits like growing intolerance, radical ideas, and acceptance of violence have affected peace and coexistence.
The platform hopes to open space for wider conversations about both global and local changes, and how those shifts affect the region.
One major goal is to think seriously about the region’s social fabric—closing gaps, clearing up false ideas, questioning extreme views, and fighting false information that misleads the public.
It also aims to build room for open dialogue—between and within communities and regions—so that shared values and mutual respect can take root.
A key part of the vision is to highlight and honour local thinkers, artists, and knowledge-keepers who have made lasting contributions in areas like mysticism, philosophy, language, literature, and music—and to bring more attention to the knowledge systems that have grown in this region.
It seeks to support the cultural richness of the region—its music, languages, scripts, arts, crafts, and traditions—and help these find a place on the global stage.
The Foundation also aims to help young people build skills in research and analysis, so they can play a role in shaping public policy, improving institutions, strengthening governance, and building fair security systems and strong public opinion.
It also wants to raise awareness about water, climate, and community duties, so that people take better care of the land and each other.
The platform will support programs through a ‘Duty First’ club to build a spirit of service and leadership in the youth.
In the end, the goal is to see Kashmir become a living and growing centre of learning—one that stays true to its civilizational roots while meeting the needs of the future.
